THE ROLE       

The Manager, FP&A will lead Vantage’s financial planning, reporting, and analysis, including detailed budgeting and forecasting. The Manager, FP&A will conduct financial and strategic analysis to report on key financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, help to ensure accurate and timely production of reports and forecasts, and assist in monitoring overall performance relative to annual plan and strategic plan. 

 

The Manager, FP&A is responsible for providing insightful financial and strategic analysis and concise reports that contribute to the management of Vantage’s corporate office in Vancouver, and its domestic and international subsidiaries. Further, leading the efforts on the development and continuous improvement of processes, procedures and systems associated with management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and financial analysis.

 

In addition, the Manager, FP&A will support the VP, FP&A, as required, in strategic planning, M&A and Business Development activities for the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and conducts analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, cash flow projections, business forecasts and reports on key performance indicators
  • Reviews operational performance, analyzes financial information and prepares presentations and reports based on pertinent data
  • Provides analysis of financial implications of business activities and brings forward recommendations to enhance financial performance
  • Proactively leads analyses and makes recommendations which will create and enhance value including cost savings and profit generating opportunities
  • Leads corporate and departmental budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting and business planning processes
  • Conducts research, competitive analysis, benchmarking, and assists in the preparation of regular and ad-hoc reporting to drive informed decision-making

ABOUT YOU

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (undergraduate or MBA).
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Professional designation (CPA or CFA) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter who takes pride in delivering high-quality, timely results.
  • Inquisitive nature to dig deeper to understand the drivers behind the numbers and performance, and can identify opportunities for process, system, and reporting improvements.
  • A proven track record of synthesizing qualitative and quantitative analyses into clear, concise and insightful reports and presentation materials to support strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills which combine financial modelling, accounting, and corporate finance coupled with sound business acumen.
  • Excellent organization skills and well-rounded interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work in situations with changing priorities and multiple, simultaneous assignments.
  • Familiar with various financial platforms and reporting tools and have superior Excel, communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Critical thinker.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

The salary range for this role is $97,500 - $125,000 CAD.
