The role:

Vantage Group, a partner in Hermes Airports and Cyprus Airport Operating Group (CAOG) is seeking a Project Engineer (Electrical) to join the CAOG team acting as the Owners Representative for the 170 million Euro Phase 2 Expansion of Larnaca and Paphos airports (Project).

 

The Project Engineer (Electrical) will report to and assist the Technical Project Manager in coordinating, monitoring, and tracking the construction of the Phase 2 Expansion works at LCA and PFO terminals. This position shall require interactions and relationship development with key stakeholders including the Design & Build Contractor, Hermes Airport Operations, Hermes Technical, Independent Engineer, External engineering consultants, concessionaires, and the Government of Cyprus representatives. The ideal candidate shall be an independent worker, detail-oriented, with good communication skills, able to work as part of a team and to tight deadlines, demonstrate strong work ethic, including reliability, integrity, and commitment to achieving high standards.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reading, reviewing and being knowledgeable of the project agreements, contracts, specifications, regulations, policies, procedures and other documents related to the Project.
  • Assist the Technical Project Manager in the review, handling, commenting, approving and transmitting project documents to and from the Design Build Contractor and the Independent Engineer.
  • Assist the Technical Project Manager by attending, participating and keeping notes at weekly, monthly and ad hoc meetings.
  • Regularly visit the construction sites, alone or in groups to observe, photograph, monitor, inspect and track construction progress.
  • Set an example through his/her actions and reinforce a culture of safety and compliance amongst the team, the contractor and other stakeholders. 
  • Any other duty in support of the Project as required or requested by the Technical Project Manager.

About you:

 

The ideal candidate possesses the technical skills to read and understand drawings, submittals, specifications, contracts, and regulations, and brings a proactive safety mindset that supports a culture of compliance and safe work practices. The primary work location shall be at Larnaka Airport with frequent construction site visits to Larnaka and Paphos to review and track construction progress.

 

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or related field with a valid ETEK membership and license. Preference will be given to candidates with an Electrical Engineering background.
    • Five (5) year’s experience, with at least three (3) years in construction works
    • Must be fluent in both Greek and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
    • Computer literacy
    • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
    • Ability to pass security screening and background checks for Airport Identification.

     

This full-time position is tied to a multi-year project and is anticipated to run until September 2027. Actual contract duration may adjust based on project timelines.
